As a plus size woman, I struggle with my body image, and having been overweight since I was about 10, that's a long time.  One thing I am learning on being is comfortable with what my body looks like.  Yes, I need to be healthier, but basing self-esteem and worth on a number from a scale, doesn't help my emotional or mental health, and in turn doesn't help my physical one either.

Do you rely on the scale to dictate to you regarding how you feel about yourself?

Welcome to the inaugural post of this blog!   I don't have all the answers, I'm not even sure what all the questions are, but I do know that I am me, and I'm learning more and more to live my life authentically by being me.  So this blog is about being who you are...period.  My hope is for discussion and conversation, the sharing of your views whether you agree with me or not.  The only rule I have, and here I'll quote the fantastic Aretha Franklin, is RESPECT.   So I hope you'll follow me and join in.

Today's topic is about Being...who you are.  So, who are you?  Okay, I'll start.  My name is Wendy and I am a 50 year old woman who has been married fort he first time for just a little less than a year.  I am caring, plus-sized, fun-loving and at times goofy.  I love to smile and help people and am always looking to change for the better.

Okay, now your turn.  Tell me a little about yourself as well as conversations you would like to see started.  I am taking the first step of being...on a journey.  Care to come along?
